I'm not an electrician but I managed to hook up the 12 volt version. The solenoid says it draws 400mA, but I read another review that says it gets hot under that load. I tried a 200mA adapter (a typical cellphone adapter) and it powered the solenoid just fine. If you are new to wiring, simply open the unit by unscrewing the only visible screw. Remove the transparent block (it will be solid). Look at the transparent block and remove the electronic bottom from the transparent part (I used a screw to put the terminals in the screw hole and it came straight out). Strip the wires. You see three adjustment screws. Thread a wire through the clear case and attach a wire to each of the top two set screws (leave the bottom one alone). We collect back. Again, I'm not an electrician. Please ask a licensed electrician to authorize any work.
