Review on Swissmar Borner V Prep Mandoline V 5000 by Tammy Lewis

I really wanted to like it! I waited a long time to spend $ and get this. I was particularly excited to receive a German product as they are absolutely the best! I need to know that my husband is 100% German! :-) However, this thing scares me! I don't like the pen/food holder; it does not fit in the rail and can easily slip off! The other blades are wide open and must be handled with extreme care. I'm an avid cook who has worked in restaurants, commercial kitchens and is also a retired upholsterer so I know the tools and how to use them. However, I am not satisfied with that. Just because I don't feel safe using it. So he sits back and I use my knives again. Unfortunately I went through the window to come back and I'd really like to trade it in for their newer model which seems to have better security features! I hope the seller sees this and contacts me! I've only used it twice so it's brand new! Choose this brand and look for their new models with the best safety features!
