I live in an apartment across from the university building with Eduroam hotspots. Using the standard antennas that came with my Asus PCIE network card (PCE-AC56), I was *almost* able to get a normal connection, but it wasn't strong enough for video streaming and it dropped frequently. With this antenna I get a good enough connection in most cases to reliably stream videos or play (online) multiplayer video games. I am very satisfied with the performance of this antenna. Please note that my network card has two antenna connectors (MIMO?), but I only use this antenna (I disabled the default antennas, so now I have a free antenna connector). . I may get another one of these antennas to try and improve the signal strength and speed even further. One final note (more of a software thing): I had to use a 3rd party program to specify which Eduroam access point to connect to as there were many routers in range with that SSID. I used NetSetMan Pro which is free for non-commercial purposes. TL; DR: I think this antenna will work well for people who are about to connect to a Wi-Fi network and don't have control. the network you want to connect to. If you're in control of the WiFi router you're trying to connect to, you may get better results with two of them (one on the router and one on your computer).
