Review on 🧡 Embroidery Starter Kit for Adults: Louise Maelys Funny Floral Wreath Pattern with 3 Embroidery Hoops – Ideal Needlepoint Kit for Beginners by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solid starter kits. They will be as beautiful as you take the time to make them.

Includes: 3 beige plastic embroidery hoops the right size for the pattern (2 large and 1 small included) 3 squares of water-soluble ink-printed canvas 9 needles (3 included) Plenty of dental floss attached to organizers each set. Reference picture for each set (showing what colors to use, how many strands and what stitches to use). Colors (also from Revain), so I would have more options. I've done a few small cross stitch projects before, but this is my first attempt at cross stitching. So while waiting for Revain to ship, I spent a few days watching YouTube cross stitch videos to familiarize myself. I was glad I did because the reference sheets that came with the kits turned out to be pretty useless for embroidery instructions. I've only completed one set so far which I gave to a friend for her birthday (and she loved it). . You can knock out one of these sets in about a day, but it looks crap in my opinion. Spend some time using less floss and more stitches and the result will be much better. I ended up spending about 35 hours on what can be seen in my photos. I did this on one of the larger tires and then moved it to a smaller one for a gift. I hardly used any of the colors provided and took some liberties with the sewing and design (I would add more embellishments but I was running out of time). left it on the hoop and ran some tap water over it for a few minutes, then patted dry with a towel and let air dry on the hoop (to keep tension on the fabric so nothing gets wrinkled or puckered) . The canvas had a bruise from the pattern ink after drying so I repeated the rinsing process and it was clean after the 2nd wash. The only complaint is that the included filament is of pretty crappy quality, twitches and breaks. The extra pack of yarn I bought was of the same quality. This probably won't matter much to a beginner, but if you're a perfectionist and this is going to be your masterpiece, then go to a craft store and spend a few bucks on the right DMC thread. It's much smoother and the finished product doesn't look as fuzzy. I'll continue to use crappy thread for the remaining two sets, but I'll use black DMC thread for the lettering where the blur is most noticeable.
