I bought it for crop (D7200) as a portrait, although many say that you need to take at least 85 mm for the correct "shapes" of the face. But, I tell you, on a crop with such a FR, you can practically forget about shooting in tight spaces, such as apartments, because even this fifty kopecks is not always enough. For a long time I chose between 50 mm 1.4G and 50 mm 1.8G. Having studied more detailed information and the specifics of the operation of a faster lens, I came to the conclusion that I will not shoot at a fully open aperture anyway. In the end, I chose 1.8. The only thing is that when processing photos in LR, I did not find a profile, so I use the profile from the previous version (1.8D). To be honest, I was most impressed with the color rendition! The eyes are especially interesting. Very nice soft and warm colors wide open, and damn accurate autofocus! The lens almost never misses (in 99% of cases I focus on one point). But, I must say that the focusing speed itself is not very fast. The depth of field is great, you don't have to worry that the nose will be blurred when you focus on the eyes))) Compact and lightweight, making it easy to take with you on your travels. The workmanship is top notch despite being made in China. It seems like there is even a dust-moisture protective seal. Of the minuses (if you really find fault) - this is a 7-bladed diaphragm, but I have not yet caught the "nuts". In general, we can safely say that this is one of the "must have" lenses that should be in the bag of all amateur photographers. If you are still thinking whether to buy it or not, then my answer is: definitely buy it! Especially if you have never had "fixes" before.
