Very good product. I would give it 5 stars except the tubs have a little more play than I would like. But then I don't know how long it takes for the pieces to slide together. I hooked it up to the truck just to see how it works and didn't need a guide because it's so easy to figure out. Because of its weight I'm sure it's strong enough to carry my wood home from the lumberyard. I have a 6.6ft short bed and when it is fully extended the 12ft boards will (I guess) stick out about 6-8 inches at the end making the 12ft boards lugged around comfortably and safely be able. But the reason I got it is because I also need to transport 16ft boards and the rack can handle them well. I showed it to my carpenter neighbor when I hooked it up to the truck and he ordered it a few hours later because he also has a short bed. TRUCK. - Don't forget to order a clutch pin if you don't have one as it is not included. This is my first time using an extension, so I've added some pictures to the review. My bed is 6ft 4in. I'm 8ft 3.5" tall with the tailgate down. These pictures show 8 5/4' x 12' deck boards and 8 5/4' x 8' deck boards. Boards are stacked 4 pieces next to each other. The thing worked great! The good thing is that you can now secure long boards with a short platform truck. The tubes do have some play but the unit was solid with the wood sitting on it so I'm changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars.
