This review is for the Watts Reverse Osmosis Replacement Filter Kit. This is a replacement for the 5 watt Premier filter system I bought a few years ago. The set of 5 was cheaper than just a Watts reverse osmosis system or just a set of other Watts brand filters so I decided to give it a try. Everything fitted as easily as you would expect and the extra wrench that came with the other five pieces came in very handy as it had a short handle and was easier to use than the original wrench that came with the filter unit became. After installation, the default filters worked as expected. The only major downside was the reverse osmosis element. This gave the water an unpleasant taste similar to that given off by many pitcher-type "water purifiers". I don't know if the reason for the bad taste is due to the element having to be installed upside down due to the placement of the gasket, or the type of plastic the outer cylinder is made of, but the taste wasn't to my wife and me acceptable I. . I bought a Watts brand reverse osmosis element at the same time as the 5 element kit just in case a messed up gasket was a problem so I replaced the element from the 5 element kit with a Watts element and after I just ran a few gallons through the unit and we were back to delicious water. I would add that even buying a Watts reverse osmosis purchased separately the overall cost was less than buying all the filters etc from Watts (directly or through Revain.
