After following the cooking instructions as much as possible with the size pot I had, this piece of wood is still leaking tannins into my aquarium which is in a light brown color stains I don't know if I can ever get rid of. I would not recommend putting this liner in your tank without live plants to properly filter out those tannins. The rest of my tank is fake and it wouldn't be a good idea to put a real tree inside. Probably should have just made a rock insert instead.
