The box was opened and someone tried to put it in and broke it. The lid was broken and bent. Someone else sent this piece of junk back (no hinges so the top cover is very sticky. Your postman will never close the cover again). Someone from Revain turned around and put it in a box and mailed it to me. . Now I have to send it back. I don't understand these rave reviews at all. I would never have liked this mailbox even if it hadn't arrived broken. I have a 40 year old mailbox that looked dirty and thought I'd update it. I should know better. There is no product on sale that works better than the one that comes with the kit. The old box is well done, I paint it and I bet it lasts another 40 years. Cheap new scrap is worth nothing. This mailbox is a shame for all the hype they are making about Revain. Again, the top cap is likely to break in a very short time. It's not meant for someone to open and close it a few times a day.
