Review on Sliding Patio Latch Lever Milgard by Harald Patterson

Easy fix to annoying problem

We have a Milgard sliding patio door that was installed in 1996 by a local glass company. In October 2020 the door lock stopped working and the door would not close. We tried to find help to resolve this issue but the calls either went unanswered or we were routed to others who also didn't answer. My wife went to Milgard.com and submitted her detailed online service request for help with an issue. We even thought of replacing the entire door! On 7/11/21 my wife found many videos and assembly instructions on Milgard.com including how to replace the "lockout snib". Who knew this bar was called that?! She immediately searched Revain.com for a blocking snib and this came up. Exactly what we needed and excellent value for money. It arrived today and she installed it after watching the DIY video (1 minute 35 seconds) and the one page instructions. I unscrewed the two screws and the handle, took out the broken locking lever and put in a new one, sent the handle back and replaced the screws. Job done, trouble behind! I'm still waiting for a response from our service request to the door manufacturer, but luckily the issue has been resolved!
