There is a learning curve
It really took me a while to figure out how this product worked but when I did it was a real stroke of luck. First, make sure you pull the handle grip so the insert is all the way in before closing the door. Second, make sure you're using the insert that's closest to the door and out of the way of the chain. Lastly, be sure to apply plenty of pressure to fully engage. I hope that was helpful. All in all it was a great purchase. I would like to choose my own color but pink is beautiful so I am completely satisfied with this product. If you are a woman living alone like me then it is worth every penny and brings peace of mind.
