Review on Dell S2340M - 23 Inch LED Lit Monitor with 1920X1080 Resolution, 60Hz Refresh Rate, and High Definition - ‎293M3 Model by Joe Haynes

I spent quite a bit of time reading reviews and dug into this IPS monitor. There are more technical reviews, but I'll touch on four or four points that helped me make my choice. Wanted something that would work plug and play with Windows and Mac. This fits the bill (using a Mac to Mini DisplayPort adapter from an HDMI to DVI cable). Stunning picture quality for Windows and Mac.2. I need an HDCP monitor (I think that's what it's called) to view my movie collection without problems. Some films are not shown on all monitors and this has something to do with digital rights. Who knows. All I know is that I had no problems watching my movies on this device. I immediately wanted perspective. IPS displays are slightly better than many VT displays, and this monitor is no exception. It's crazy how I can look at the monitor from a sharp angle and still have a good view.4. I want good flowers. Again, I can't complain yet and this monitor looks fantastic. There are also plenty of customization options if you take the time to learn the controls and customize them to your liking. The build quality is good, I like the stand and the product is quality, no doubt about that. Now the little things that deducted a star. - Not the fastest answer if you are a gamer. If you play first person shooters often, you will see ghosting on this monitor. I think you will be satisfied with games like Diablo III, LoL and other less demanding games. Playing Assassin's Creed, not so much. Second, while this monitor doesn't have VESA mounts, it does have third-party mounts that allow it to be wall-mounted. I found them on ebay before buying. They're cheap, about $10. But that's another $10 to add and it should be standard on a monitor today. Third, the final caveat is that the cable connectors sit in a fairly tight spot and my connectors barely fit. The angle on the back of the screen and the indentation where the ports should go is a pain. A few millimeters more would be desirable here. For my needs (mainly office, some photos, some videos and the occasional game like Civilization or Diablo III) this is a good buy. Now that I see it in person and the display is so bright I would love to upgrade to the 23" version ;-)
