I bought this to enter serial numbers into Quickbooks for products I sell. In short - I read barcodes per se off my computer screen - when I deliver groceries, I photograph the barcodes off the boxes with an iPhone 12 Max. I try very hard to keep the phone level. Then I use this scanner from apple photos or google photos on my computer screen to read serial numbers - it works maybe 70% of the time.
