📱 1D Wireless Barcode Scanner Laser by Alacrity Review

I love my scanner, it works consistently in our 100ft store. We scan the product code from our own internal system, as well as standard barcodes and driver's licenses.

I'm a freelance IT service technician in the field. I have a business customer who does hard drive wipes and also does a hardware inventory for their customers. This barcode scanner was a quick purchase for me, but for the most part it works great. It doesn't read white bars on a black background, but overall I like it.

I bought this to enter serial numbers into Quickbooks for products I sell. In short - I read barcodes per se off my computer screen - when I deliver groceries, I photograph the barcodes off the boxes with an iPhone 12 Max. I try very hard to keep the phone level. Then I use this scanner from apple photos or google photos on my computer screen to read serial numbers - it works maybe 70% of the time.

The scanner works well although some care is needed in reading the instructions and using the barcodes provided to program the scanner for the different modes. The reader quickly responds to any barcode placed in front of it with a beep to indicate the barcode has been successfully read. The codes are simply read directly in the application opened on the PC using the supplied wireless adapter or can be downloaded later when the reader is connected via a USB cable. So I've seen some people saying Bluetooth isn't working. There are two ways to connect. 1 Scan the setup codes in the user manual. 2 Press and hold the shutter button for about 8 seconds. I tried both and both worked fine. The guide includes a set of codes to scan. Look for the one that says "Continuous Scan". After scanning, the scanner will automatically scan the items with the laser on. I would recommend pulse mode so you don't end up with multiple scans of the same item :)
