Installed two of these in my son's garage, a three car garage that oddly never had a garage door opener. They work great. The installation instructions are excellent and any sane person can do it. You may read on various websites that you need a foot or two of clearance, but that's nonsense. Listen to the instructions again.2. Some websites give incorrect instructions on how to place the outlet, such as B. "8 feet from the wall and centered" is recommended. Terrible advice in this case. The distance from the head mount to the back of the opener is approximately 11 feet. In a close spacing scenario, when the outlet is centered and closer than 12 feet to the wall, the opener and guide may block the outlet and the cord will most likely not reach anyway. I also suggest putting something prominently on the door. Hand. We hope this will prevent people from hitting their heads or colliding with them in a high clearance vehicle. Cut a 1 inch wide slit in a tennis ball and place it on your arm like I did.
