Review on Dorman Door Lock Striker 38428 for Suitable Car Models by Dale Hing

This is a quality replacement door lock bolt and overall a good buy. I used them on a '94 Chevy pickup. Replacing them is not easy, but not too difficult. This requires access to the inside of the door frame as the threaded plate is not spot welded on the inside. At least not in my car. I removed my storage bags at each end of the rear seat (extended cab) for access. Also, I had to remove the old bolts with pliers as the bolts are not hardened and the hex head ripped out. Tighten gently to avoid smearing. I recommend an 8mm hex, although 5/16 will do. 8 is slightly larger and fits tighter.
