It doesn't have a color screen or map navigation but I don't need it. Instead, you get a crisp black and white display that's easy to read even in direct sunlight. The battery lasts for several trips without recharging. The GPS connection is quite fast and seems to be stable. Connecting the heart rate monitor was easy, as was syncing it with my phone and Strava to automatically upload the data. The display has multiple customization options, so you can preset multiple data options (like speed, time, distance, heart rate, etc.) and switch between them on the fly using the app on your phone. I switched between minimal speed information and more detailed pages depending on the type of trip I was on. Tethering to phone allows you to view text messages, incoming calls, emails, etc. which is very useful. The backlight is optional and very clear when needed.
