This is my second set of these knives. The first set lasted a decade and simply wore out. These knives are excellent. They're incredibly sharp. They are durable and very tough. They are ceramic and will become brittle if mishandled. If you don't treat the edge carefully, as some negative reviews make clear, they will crack. You can't just throw them in the sink. You cannot twist or cut the blade. Requires general care. They require chip abuse. A similar ceramic product is Corning Corelle Ware. If you cannot handle them with care, then discard them. To be honest, when you shred these knives, you're also overusing your steel knives.
