Review on Delta Cycle Hitch Locking Mount by Balthazar Cooper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quality fork hitch at an affordable price

I use this in combination with a Delta Cycle Wheel Hitch and a Saris Triple Track Bike Rack. Delta couplers are very good for the price. The Bike Hitch Pro is solidly built and runs quite smoothly. The locking lever is a great benefit when you need it, but when you have a number of bikes and wheels mounted close together and close to the inside of the truck body, it can be a bit difficult and awkward to get to. hand tighten only, especially given the small size of the plastic nut on the opposite side of the locking handle. Other disadvantages are that the coupling body and axle/bolt are made of regular steel (as opposed to stainless steel) so they are more likely to rust if exposed to the elements and without lubrication for long periods of time, and the end nut is plastic. I would recommend replacing it with a larger steel or brass nut that is easier to finger tighten. I would also be careful to use a hard material washer like teflon or phenolic to prevent the nut from scratching the forks. Difficult to reduce the amount of force that might allow someone to remove the fork even with the clutch tight and locked.

Pros
  • Universal Bike Fork Mount :: Delta's Bike Hitch Pro is the most versatile solution for transporting and storing your bike and can be mounted on any flat surface. Instantly create a van or truck bike mounting solution for easy transportation.
Cons
  • Not all will fit
