This is a pump. They make $15 which works great. This costs 3 times as much. It's heavy because it's made of metal, so it's not that portable. How do you know if you should buy it? You should buy this pump if: 1) you have a Brooks saddle 2) you have a fixed saddle but have a rear wheel hub 3) you have a beard and messy clothes but actually have a trust fund. Other considerations: It's great. I like the screw on the head. It doesn't leak. I've had a number of problems with typical pump heads trying to figure out which way the lever goes to lock it and which way to open it. And pressed heads flow. Getting dressed takes a little longer but is safe. When removing, be careful not to accidentally remove the Schrader cores. Otherwise it's perfect. And it's made of shiny orange anodized metal. And it screws into the base for security and prevents the hose from dangling. It works fine. I have the high volume version because I ride mountain bikes. It works well and pumps fast for such a small pump. Yes, it's expensive, but it's built like a tank and hopefully will last.
