The patterns were great but if I had to do an Alaskan quilt again I would buy precut fabric. It wasn't worth the time it took to cut over 1000 parts. However, if you wish to use your own fabrics, you should do so. Note that according to Editya, the corners of the stencils have been trimmed so they don't hit you, so you don't have to trim the corners of the fabric if you don't want to. She has a nice video on You Tube on how to cut these patterns.
