This was in response to my fluctuating solar charge/discharge voltage. I use it for a CCTV system so that a power failure will not stop the recording. Low voltage messed up the last dash cam so I had to make sure it doesn't happen again. This regulator even turns off - instead of providing bad (low) voltage, the DVR can turn off when the power is removed. Although I don't have any LEDs to power it, this block can be a good current source as it can limit the current. Thermal runaway occurs with LEDs and this is handled by current limiting. I don't move much power so I don't expect any issues with this product. One problem is that the backlight stays on and stays (brightly) blue. Keep them out of your bedroom.
