Good sound. Impressed so far.

Installation complete and I will give this product four stars. I bought this radio and speaker kit to use in an aluminum fishing boat. I haven't had a boat on the water since the installation was completed. I will do an additional review of this product after getting the boat wet a few more times. The radio and speakers arrived on time and there were no problems with the packaging. It was clear that I had received a new product still in the original packaging. The installation is quite easy. Follow the instructions. However, I will say that you definitely need to follow the speaker wiring diagram. In the owner's manual, the top wiring diagram is for four speakers. Please note that only two speakers are included in this kit. If you only have two speakers you will need to follow the schematic below. The diagram below is for a two-speaker bridge configuration. If you only have two speakers and connect them in a non-bridged configuration you will only get HALF the power from the radio. . Remember, 2 speakers = bridge configuration. Once installed, I have to say that these speakers and radio sound very, very good even though they cost around $100. I installed the speakers closer to the bow of the boat, just under a small ledge. I think placing them under the edge improves the sound. I once ran the radio for 8 hours and it did not drain my deep cycle marine battery and that was with the LED courtesy light on. I'll say there's one thing I don't like about this radio. . I know this is probably intended to replace modern boats that already have a hole for the radio, but if you're installing in a boat that's never had a radio before you'll need to drill a really big hole to get it Block to move in. The base of the radio is about 3-4 inches. That's a big hole. I really didn't want to put that big a hole in my boat in case that block fails and I have to remove it. Drilled crate for the block and smaller holes to attach the crate to the boat. Yes the crate sticks out a bit but that's tolerable. I haven't checked Radu yet because I haven't bought an antenna yet. I tested Blue Tooth and I will say that it connects perfectly. I used to buy BT crap from Revain and always hated the struggle to plug it in. This device connected to my wife's iPhone very quickly and never dropped the connection. The BT connection is very strong and will not break or tear. I also tried a USB connection and it works very well too. There is a 3.5mm jack for older devices which I haven't tried and there are also RCA jacks which I just cut off the head of because I didn't want to put those fat heads through the smaller hole, which I drilled plus. Who even uses RCA connectors these days? I connected two positive wires to the boat mounted rocker switch and ran a positive wire from the rocker switch's other terminal back to the battery, which also has a master switch. The battery kill switch and optional rocker switch give me confidence that this device won't drain my battery through failure or my forgetting to turn it off. So far I've been very impressed with this as well. We'll have to wait for him to pass some tests on the lake. Will be filled with fresh water. Will update this review later.
