I have 4 metal chairs in my dining room that are scratching the linoleum floor leaving black marks that are very difficult to remove. I was looking for chair leg covers or floor protectors when I found this brand. I had never bought anything like this before (no one told me it was part of adulthood!) so I just took a chance. I measured my chair legs first as there are different sizes and even square and round steps so I chose the one that best fits my chairs. They are actually very easy to install, all you have to do is turn the chairs over and insert them into the legs one at a time. No glue, tape or anything like that. They wobble a little but they fit snug enough not to wobble. They're almost invisible once you've installed them all, so I doubt guests will notice if they're nervous about it. These defenders immediately made a big difference! My chairs no longer scratch the linoleum. No more loud SKKRRRRRRRRRCCHHH waking everyone up in the middle of the night trying to eat at the dinner table. No more black marks on the floor for your parents to passive-aggressively comment on your cleaning skills. Rschunimagu. They're made out of fairly thick and durable silicone so I think they'll last a long time, but I'll see how they hold up after a few months of use.
