Prevents lids from slamming.
I have a 4.5' x 3' cover to cover a hole in the ground to access my sub. It's made of 3/4" thick plywood and fastens along the long edge with a piano loop. It's heavy. Worked great except it slammed shut when it was closed, possibly injuring someone's fingers, toes, head (or worse). They were Installed in 30 minutes The instructions are small so just use your instincts on where to put them Now the lid opens and closes slowly and much more securely When open it holds the lid 110 degrees Very nice.
