I've carried one of these in my bag for about 30 years. They last about 4 or 5 years and then need to be replaced, which costs about $1 a year. Worth the money but they have an odd function. The back of the tape is a scale that when wrapped around a round object gives a straight diameter. It's smart, but in 30 years I've never used it. The conversion is easy, just divide the perimeter by 3.14. I'd rather see the metric scale on the back synchronized with the inches on the front so I can flip the band and convert from one to the other. I think I would use it a lot more.
