I've carried one of these in my bag for about 30 years. They last about 4 or 5 years and then need to be replaced, which costs about $1 a year. Worth the money but they have an odd function. The back of the tape is a scale that when wrapped around a round object gives a straight diameter. It's smart, but in 30 years I've never used it. I have bought this small measuring tape several times. I keep buying them because when my friends see them I give them away. I carry one in every purse, another in the glove compartment. I really like the small size so it doesn't take up much space in my purse. I can't tell you how many times I've taken it out to measure something while shopping. They make excellent fillers for stockings. Buying a set of 3 is a bargain. I'm sure I'll be back to buy more, especially if I keep giving them away…

Two of the three tapes received had the end stop (the part that prevents the tape from fully retracting/engaging the object to be measured) poorly attached.
