This tool works well and avoids a mess IF you shorten the drain hose so that it reaches the drain pan. If you try to use the tool with the full size hose out of the box, there isn't enough pressure to overcome the "foot" of oil building up in the hose. In this case you end up with an incompletely drained filter housing and a hose full of oil - and a mess. Simply shorten the hose to the minimum length required to achieve the desired capacity. Recommended to deal with the hassle of Toyota oil filter change.
