I'm a fan of small recorders and have several. I was delighted to receive this Aomago 16GB recorder as a gift and was keen to compare it to the ones I use regularly. The recorder comes with headphones, a charging/data cable, a reasonably well-written manual, and a support and registration card. Firstly, it is a very intelligent recorder. It measures around 1 x 4 inches (25mm x 100mm) so it's quite small but fits comfortably in your hand. The screen at the top is also small, but still easy to read. The main controls are a touchpad on the bottom half of the recorder's front panel with a menu button, play/pause, volume, forward, backward, AB repeat and a back button. On the side there is an on/off switch and a record button, as well as a charging port. The microphones are on top and the speaker is on the bottom. There is also a reset button. This is a very well built device. He's a nice weight. The touchscreen is backlit and the functions are very responsive. To record, simply press the record button on the side with your thumb and press down to save. Very easy and clear to use. With 16 GB of storage space, you can store many records. The most important thing with a voice recorder is of course the quality of the recording. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the recording. I did a little comparison test with some of my other recorders. I put her and Aomago on the table in front of me, hit the record button on all three and took a quick shot. Using headphones and Audacity to compare the results, I found the Aomago to have the best sound, maximum volume, and lowest noise. Very impressive! Another test I ran was with the automatic voice recording setting. I always worry they will cut off the first word but this voice recorder did a great job. I understood the first syllable of each sentence. He stopped writing when I stopped speaking and immediately picked up the sentences. My only concern is that there may be a significant lag when you click on the recording. I have time delays up to 8 seconds. For what I use this recorder for, it's not a problem, just a little annoying. However, when using the voice-activated recording mode, the delay only occurs when you first turn on the recording function. All in all, this is a great little recorder. I highly recommend it.
