This is a beautiful and durable medium colored wood pepper mill that works well. It is easy to use and easy to keep clean. The only reason it didn't get a full five stars from me is that it doesn't offer a large grinding area. The fineness/fineness of discarded pepper doesn't offer many options other than a medium grind. Personally, I like very coarsely ground pepper, which I just couldn't get from this mill. Those who prefer real paprika powder may also find it inadequate. However, it fits well for the vast majority of kitchens and tables and seems durable enough to withstand years of sanding. Despite the limited grinding range, I would recommend it for cooking and/or offering the pepper to guests as a side dish. It will also be a good housewarming gift, beautiful and practical.
