(RATING BASED ON CHALK PAINT ON FURNITURE) When it comes to chalk painting, every brush matters and not all brushes are created equal. Not even close. I couldn't find any beginning and ending brushes. But this brush is considered one of the best for its role in the project. This brush picks up a lot of paint; more than it should. This is not a first layer brush. But its smooth coverage makes it a great mid and top coat. Minimal smearing visibility. Note: If you swipe more than 2 times, the color begins to gather again. Although it still contains tons of color. The slower you move your finger while applying light pressure, the more color will be applied. This brush feels good in the hand. If you expect a heavier upper, it's not enough to tire your hand quickly. I always strive to shake off at least 7 bristles of the brush on initial fluff, then I don't want to see another flake under my paint - I've had one (1!) under this brush and haven't since. Impressive! Cleans perfectly. I don't expect to ever need to condition the brush (some plastics still need conditioning), but I'm wondering if putting more paint on it will help. All in all, this is a quality brush. I believe, it will stand the test of time. It's very nicely done. 4 stars is about as good as mine. I've never gifted a brush again so 3 stars is quite a lot for me. Again, each one serves a specific purpose.
