I've been a carpenter for 13 years and have used almost every model of 18g nailer. Day and Proud Product Description. I've used it on some MDF painting work for a while and found it decent but not much to write about. I put it back on the shelf after work where I had 5/4 alder door headers and the gun didn't work. I didn't sink any of the 2" pins, although I tried changing the pressure in the compressor and making sure the depth setting on the gun was set to maximum. It sat for quite a while and recently I decided to give it another try so I oiled it and the driver broke at the base on the first day after thinking about buying a new driver for about $50 . I think this gun will end up in the trash. I have bought several Dewalt DW-FP12231 for my team and for myself and am very happy with them, about every six months a small part breaks like the driver's o-ring or the bumper, but we use these guns all day, almost every day so it seems minimal to me and the parts are very cheap not to mention the gun itself at $71.
