Just wanted to warn other Linux users. I built the system using the new ASUS Prime B450M-A motherboard, Ryzen 3 3200G, Crucial 3000 CL15 16GB DDR4 RAM, 120GB SSD and a Corsair 400W to power everything. plus all versions 19* and Fedora 31 here), you should be fine. Just note that you don't get AMD Linux driver support for these chips (sadly, AMD has forgotten who saved them years ago when the Intel onslaught was in full swing). If you know about it, then you're good to go. And be aware that these chips are not true AMD CPU 3000 versions; real 3000 releases follow next summer). With this chip, I observed Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS ISO booting directly (on the ASUS Prime B450M-A mentioned above, I can't tell if this is the case with other board manufacturers). Same goes for Fedora 31. What didn't boot for me (without jumping through hoops and rebuilding the ISO with a Linux 5 kernel or higher) are: Linux Mint 19, OpenSUSE LEAP/Tumbleweed, Debian 10.1 Buster, MX Linux. 19 and a few others I've tried. They all fail to boot because most of them are still using kernels below 5). I installed this new system in my family and kids living room and it has stood up to their bullying for the past few weeks without a single hiccup (knock on wood haha) or issues. You use it for everything from general web browsing, multipurpose to Netflix streaming etc etc. I even used the included cooler and also convinced myself (as a test) to use the included paste which got it running. To be honest so far I'm still amazed by the normal temperature range it's easy to use no matter what they're doing. When games get heavy (it's amazing what this chip does in terms of FPS, for 720P it just rips like butter) I can replace the stock cooler and install one of the larger Thermaltake coolers I have (just to be sure walk). . I hope this review helps those who are concerned that this chip will not work with any Linux OS. AMD needs to be beaten for last year's Pinnacle Ridge debacle (which angered many Linux users). Fortunately, they've had some success with the 3200G/3400G, which is welcome. Also note that AMD still tells all 300/400 series motherboard manufacturers to "disable" PCIe4 (AMD might deserve another slap in the face for that). If PCIe4 is important to you, wait for the real 3000 processors to be released next summer. I hope this review will help all Linux OS lovers/users.
