If you just need an inexpensive kit to see if you like tossing or don't need it for long then this is a great option. As with most tools, you get what you pay for and the edges on wood are thicker/blunter and the edges on band tools dull faster than better quality tools. However, they are fully functional and barring marginal issues, my set is holding up well for the six months I've been using it. Remarkably, the metal scraper, needle tool, sponge and cutter appear to be of the same quality/design as the tools used by the local pottery teaching studio - not that they're the gold standard, but they're inexpensive - they'll get the job done the work and hold up well with normal use.
