Although the photos, especially the description, give the impression that it is gauze, a thin, slightly translucent fabric, this is not the case. These bags are made of muslin, a thicker, non-translucent fabric. I haven't used them for draining nuts, but for cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and ricotta. It took full days for the amount of liquid to reach the size of a tablespoon. Instead I will use them to store veggies. They are beautifully made with the stitching on the outside where it should be.
