Review on 🏞️ Mountain Buggy Freerider Kiddie Board, Black (No Longer in Production) by Jesse Spoja

and my toddler and I hate this thing.

I wanted to like it. It sounded so great to clip it to my Phil/Teds Dot so he could stand and rest but take it off so he could walk on his own. Not this case. Connector does not match Dot. I had to force it on because there isn't enough space between the handlebars to which it's supposed to attach, the brake rod, and some sort of rod that the basket hangs on. And none of the rubber grips that come with them fit the handlebars, I had to choose the one that fits closest and it's very loose. And since there's no room to turn between the bars, it doesn't work either. which is crucial for me, both with the board attached and with it removed. The plug is too long to leave it on all the time, my husband kicks it. but it's too hard to put on, once you put it on you'll never take it off. unless you get sick of it like me and just get rid of it. So the board itself is just as terrible. Does not direct what is important. My 3 year old has a mini kick and rides it, it steers great. This freerider is fundamentally unsuitable as a scooter. It doesn't steer, but it doesn't go straight either. He has to dismount it every 2 jabs and drag it to the left to fix it. Combined with the horrible connector that doesn't fit the Dot, it's also completely useless as a stroller airframe as it doesn't fold and attaches very loosely. I'll get rid of those two and buy a runner gliding board for my City Mini.

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are nuances
