Review on πŸ”Œ Plug and Play USB Audio Sound Adapter for PS3, PS4, Windows, Mac, Raspberry Pi, Linux - Use with External Headphone & Microphone, No Driver Required by Mike Davis

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Works to use headphones with 3.5mm jack to chat on PS3.

It works, but it doesn't work even though it's not the adapter. As it turns out, you don't get game sound or chat functionality with the Sony PS3, even with this adapter. What it does is allow you to plug PC-disconnected 3.5mm jack headphones into the PS3's USB port. The microphone part works and allows you to chat, but to get in-game sound you need to run the PS component cable audio output leads to the TV and get other adapters to get in-game sound. A mess, that's what it will be. Luckily, they fixed that on PS4 by finally adding a 3.5mm jack to their controllers. Headphone sound is a definite plus in stealth games or shooters, matchmaking. TV sound or soundbars give no sense of direction. "Oh, someone to my right, behind me now." You'll also need to go to the audio settings in the console to enable the chat feature.

Pros
  • Connect headphones, headset or external speakers to output music in stereo.
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
