This is a great and handy bag, but there are a few design quirks that keep it from being perfect. As some other reviewers have pointed out, the mesh is very tightly woven in the main part of the backpack (rather than the expandable part of the drawer). I doubt my pup will see much of this and I suppose he will get very hot in a backpack in warm weather, especially since the mesh is also black. Another problem is that the backpack's flap opens up instead of down, so it can't be adjusted if you want your pet to look out of the bag without being able to jump out of the bag. Accordingly, the leash inside is too long so that your darling does not jump out of the bag when used as a backpack. In an expandable box configuration, this is a good length; I think it would solve the problem if it was adjustable.
