I bought these to water at our duck nursery. They were a little awkward to put together because I made the mistake of making two long strips and then trying to put them together. But if you do it this way, you'll end up with some parts of the track that aren't rotated properly so they don't fit in the other track. In the end, I found that the quickest way was to connect two at a time, making sure they matched at the top and bottom edges, and then connect each of the pairs to form a double row. (The squares were enough to make three rows about 5 feet long. If I wanted all three rows, I'd put three rows together instead.) They really help with the brooder by providing a constant stream of water spray down and let it flow away instead of collecting. But HUMANLY they are difficult to clean! Feces, food and bedding get stuck in every crack. I suspect mud will do the same in other outdoor applications. WARNING: DO NOT make the mistake of banging the squares on a hard surface to loosen stuck dirt. These things are brittle and will break on the first try!
