Review on AFe Power 44 LF002 GUARD Filter by Kyle Hoes

high performance filter. Read Before Buying K&N!

I installed it on my Ram 2500 Cummins 6.7 and just love it! I have long arms and even with long arms I have trouble accessing my setup's filter. Removing the filter with a belt wrench is a chore, so great mom! The filter I received is sturdy and the nut is very strong and well secured unlike the K&N. I used to be a K&N fan and they were on all my cars and toys but after I lost a fresh batch of Royal Purple in my wife's new CRV due to a leaking pop nut rivet and nearly destroyed the new car's engine because of my wife hat thought the little red light was cute. I will never trust any other Korean made K&N filter. No, I didn't tighten it with a nut, as all mechanics know, by hand-tightening the filters. Yes, the K&N website says they make their products in a factory in America, but not all of their filters are made in America. If you open and look at the filter, there is a large "Made in Korea" stamp on it. I have read that some of them are made in Mexico and China but all mine say they are made in Korea. A nut leak is a problem that K&N is well aware of and they will offer you a new filter to replace the old one, but won't replace the oil for the $47 I lost. Thank goodness my diesel didn't have that! No thanks for the filter change! Why on earth would I trust my family in the Alaskan wilderness with a leaky filter?
