If you are looking for a cheap lens with good image quality, this is a great choice! The lens has a metal body and is generally well made. The f1.8 aperture is great for low-light portraits, and the bokeh is soft and pleasing. The lens has two disadvantages: 1. The autofocus motor is noisy and can be annoying when the lens is trying to find focus.2. Focusing on the center is quick, but becomes slower and more difficult as the focus point moves off-center. Experienced photographers can easily fix focus problems, focus on the center and recompose. It also reduces engine noise because it doesn't focus on the outer focal point. Focusing issues aside, the sharpness and bokeh are surprisingly pleasing. All in all a great budget lens, especially with its f1.8 aperture. If you are looking for an inexpensive lens, look no further.
