Unreal costs! So hot!

I can't believe how sharp this lens is for the money. I was in dire need of a telephoto lens delivered quickly and decided to give it a try as I got along well with the Meike cine lenses. With a Canon EF 85mm 1.8 I can say it's a lighter and sharper lens with decent blur/bokeh. My only small issue is that the focus is louder than Canon's. But if you're just taking photos, this is a great alternative to the Canon version for a lot less money. The main body structure is lightweight aluminum (I…

No longer working (Very nice glass in a plastic case)

**Focus motor stopped working after 18 months** Good for portraits, for amateur photographers with APS-C camera should professional full frame -Photographers invest in the best glass. Also for CANON only, works horribly on my Sony A7II; but works great for my 77D as well as my Canon eos Rebel Ti 35mm film camera (yes, analogue photo). I do macro photography but it's not very sharp with extension cords, I wouldn't recommend it. The lens comes with carrying case, lens hood, instruction manual…

A surprisingly affordable lens with two performance issues. don't pass

If you are looking for a cheap lens with good image quality, this is a great choice! The lens has a metal body and is generally well made. The f1.8 aperture is great for low-light portraits, and the bokeh is soft and pleasing. The lens has two disadvantages: 1. The autofocus motor is noisy and can be annoying when the lens is trying to find focus.2. Focusing on the center is quick, but becomes slower and more difficult as the focus point moves off-center. Experienced photographers can easily…

Excellent quality glass

I recently bought this lens after reading other reviews and watching videos on this site. The general build quality of the lens is decent. The lens is neither too heavy nor too light and doesn't feel cheap. It has a metal frame, which even some lenses in this price range only have with a plastic frame. The quality of the glass is very good and the images come out very clearly. The manual focus ring is very smooth and goes to infinity. It comes with lens, case, lens cap, mount cap and…

Autofocus not quite as good as Canon

My good photographer friend drew my attention to this lens. He allowed me to use his lens to take burst shots of my dog in action. The lens does a great job of focusing on the area you're focusing on and creating an aura against the out-of-focus area. I was supposed to have this lens but didn't want to pay $400 for the Canon brand. I found this one and tried it. Image quality is comparable or the same when only one shot is taken. Where it lags a bit is its autofocus ability and burst mode. And…

  • Long wait

I bought a Meke 85mm lens for specialized portrait photography. I am a retired professional corporate advertising photographer and have been shooting with Canon equipment for decades. The next Canon lens costs twice as much, and the most expensive Canon version costs $1,500. For the non-professional photographer, Meke allows you to shoot wide open at f/1.8 and I get beautiful bokeh that eluded you. You get acceptable sharpness, a solid lens, wide aperture, good bokeh, lens cap, case, cleaning…

Excellent value for money and quality. Extremely versatile.

What's most impressive about this lens is the amount of light it collects and how well it handles it in different situations. I knew from other reviews that it would make a good portrait lens and that it was well built. What I didn't expect was that when I pushed it to the extreme, it would continue to deliver good results. Tested in various lighting conditions, astro and macro, it performs better than some of the much more expensive lenses I own. an image of the Milky Way showing the Lagoon…

Important info for mirrorless users

I really wanted to use this but unfortunately it didn't work for me, here is what I have used and tried I have a Canon M6 Mark ii with VILTROX EF-EOS M2 Speed Booster and regular VILTROX EF-EOS adapter. Both connected flawlessly, but I couldn't get rid of flipping the switch and rotating the lens to unlock the error. I updated the speed booster and lens firmware and nothing changed. I also have a Canon M50 Mark I and it worked great with every adapter so I have some feedback. FYI: I suspect the

This is an amazingly versatile lens!

My wife has a Canon 7D mk2 and loves it. She has a good Canon 50.mf/1.8 and wanted a good prime lens that was a bit longer and didn't cost a fortune. We tested the Canon 85mm f/1.8 lenses and the build quality was below average, especially for the price. Looking closely at Revain, I came across this Meike lens. From the specs it looked good and the price was great. I was a little wary at first because most of the time budget lenses are pretty soft and have terrible chromatic aberrations. The…
