The quality of which wooden stool is pretty good. I was very curious what the seat is made of as there were no details about it. I managed to peek a little under the main fabric. Also, the bottom/bottom is woven fabric (think reusable shopping bags), which is my least favorite. In any case, what I saw was light-colored, untreated wood, so at least what I could see was based on wood. I was happy about that - I like to see wood, not MDF etc. However, mine did have scuffs - one of the crossbars is quite scratched so I made sure that part was facing inwards. I don't mind aged wood and vintage stuff so it doesn't bother me within reason but I took a star off for that as it should look like new unless it has to have an aged finish. The assembly was quite easy and the holes matched well. However, no instructions are included with the stool. A large part of the assembly is self-explanatory (e.g. felt gliders). But I thought about the screws for a moment. I used silver screws with washers on the saddle and gold screws with screw ends in wood. Especially if you plan to replace or wash the fabric cover, I recommend removing it during assembly. This way you avoid accidental pinching between the seat and legs, and the legs are also firmly fixed. The stool itself looks pretty solid and the design goes well with a variety of decor. I don't think the fabric of the case is of the best quality. It reminds me a bit of burlap in how loose the weave is (but not the texture). This gives it a more rustic or homemade look. Someday I'll sew another cover. In a way, it's good that the cover isn't part of the stool, so you can personalize it as you wish or replace it if you wear it. If you get the dark wood option (I don't know of any light) it's worth noting that the studs are visible. I was hoping to plug the four leg screw holes with the wood furniture dowels I have, but the wood holes are wider in diameter and not deep enough so I super taped them to stick out for a rustic look. Maybe a different style or size of wooden cork will work. I think it would be nice if it came with them because those four screws are incredibly visible. Thankfully, the four screws that hold the seat in place aren't noticeable due to their location.
