This winch is much better than a similar Harbor Freight winch. This winch is the best I have found to mount on a sailboat trailer. It bolts to the trailer's winch post and connects to the lawnmower's battery, which is also mounted on the winch post. Advantages of Zeak winch: 1. Synthetic rope is easier to handle than wire rope.2. The wired control switch is reliable, easy and convenient to connect.3. The remote control is in a handy size and looks waterproof.4. Supplied equipment and cable guides of excellent quality.5. The remote control is great for raising the mast with one hand and loading the boat ramp.6. It works fine in my boat trailer application.7. Product support is great! I needed help using the remote control. The response to my email was prompt and completely resolved the issue. They told me that you have to press the up and down buttons together for 3 seconds to turn the remote on or off. Problem solved Cons: 1. The included circuit breaker was too big to fit in the battery compartment. I will move the circuit breakers to a separate waterproof box.2. The winch control box is likely drawing a small amount of current from the remote receiver at all times. If the trailer is left unused for a long period of time, this will drain the battery. I will be adding a heavy duty kill switch to the control box to stop traction when the winch is not in use. I will definitely be purchasing a second winch to install on my other sailboat trailer.
