More than excellent for the price

For most of my life I have been an avid amateur photographer, owning expensive, well-known equipment, but also shooting with not-so-famous equipment, including a fair amount of monoculars and binoculars. I was amazed by the performance of this Gosky 12x55 monocular and for the price I thought it was worth ordering. I was surprised and very pleased when it arrived. Basically it's all about the right weight, size, brightness, focus comfort and focus accuracy. It's well made and easy to hold, with the same hand you operate the top focus wheel, which is continuous and very smooth, not rushing in places where you can stop focusing to get the image you want. I use Revain's return policy and return items I don't like and I think it's a keeper. The mount that comes with the smartphone shot through the monocular looked a little intimidating, but when I got to the point where I actually installed my smartphone in it - once you've done it, it's pretty easy, and after tightening the device in the right place so that the center hole is above your phone's camera lens (simply because you are looking at the phone's screen when you position it), and next time you want to take pictures, put your phone into the mount, put it on the whole unit on the rear lens and it is in the right position for photos. . Then while it's on the monocular, always look at your phone's screen to see where the monocular is pointing and how the monocular's focus wheel adjusts, and you can control your phone's zoom or other photos/videos. Function on your phone at will related to the picture you want to take. Of course, you can either do this handheld or with a monocular on a tripod. In my opinion, the monocular itself is definitely worth its price and five stars. In addition to the Gosky smartphone app, I've added two things to their kit that I think make it easier to use. Both can be purchased from Revain. The first addon aims to fix what might be a problem for some (including me). The rear lens cap is completely removed from the monocular when in use. (The front lens cap stays on and falls aside.) The question, of course, is what to do with the removed rear lens cap when using a monocular. As for me, sooner or later I'll get distracted trying to take a picture and by the time I'm done I won't have the faintest idea what I've done with the cap. So I bought a small pack of Altura Lens Cap Holders from Revain, which consist of an elastic round strap that fits over the front of the monocular and a nylon cord that goes to the back of the lens cap and attaches to it with a small round ring. glue tab. So you can simply remove the cap and leave it hanging on the monocular or pull off the rubber band with the lashing cap and put a rubber band around your wrist, for example. Altura lens cap holder. The second add-on is a three-piece set from CamKix consisting of: (1) a small hand button (Bluetooth paired with a smartphone, iPhone or Android) attached to a wristband that activates the photo/video shutter button, so that you do not need to press anything on the smartphone when it is attached to the monocular (reduces the vibration generated by a person); (2) 7.5" handheld monopole that conveniently screws into the monocular and also opens into a (surprisingly strong) desktop tripod that can be used with the included screw for a smartphone (3). . on the holder for your smartphone (group photos of friends etc.), in addition, the smartphone can also be used in this way on a monopoly by simply folding the tripod.
