Review on Raspberry Pi Ethernet/USB HUB HAT Expansion Board with 1 RJ45 10/100M Ethernet Port, 3 USB Ports Compatible with USB2.0/1.1 - Compatible with Raspberry Pi 4 B/3 B+/3 B/2 B/Zero/Zero W/Zero WH by John Roberts

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's essentially a 3-port USB hub with an RJ-45 port. Works great (but slowly), with annoying LEDs.

I was able to install this on my Pi Zero W with no problems. It allowed me to clear my Frankenstein collection from a USB hub + wired USB network adapter. The GPIO header is optional, but I've kept it for support reasons. I didn't even solder it. I hope I don't regret this decision later. I used this "case" to assemble everything: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBKFPEJ The way the USB adapter opens makes me a little nervous and I can stick some tape on the back of it for your sanity. One issue I've encountered is the bright and distracting LEDs. I already disabled the LEDs on the Pi Zero, now they are always on. There's no documentation and I'm new to using raspberries so figuring out how to turn the LEDs off seems like a daunting task. Edit to update: Waveform tech support response was that LEDs cannot be disabled. In addition, the transfer rate of this device is very low. This can be an issue if you're looking for high data transfer speeds rather than extra connectivity in a handy, compact package. I will run some tests and post an update.
