They actually work
I had a couple of wine decanters that were heavily soiled with red wine. The brushes did not do their job. We tried rice which didn't do much. I tossed it in carafes of water and dish soap and soon the stains were gone. The only problem with them is that they need to be recorded after use. Pour them out of the carafe through a fine sieve. Rinsing them, removing them from the strainer, drying them and putting them back in their original container is no easy task.
