I chose this to help my brother solve a problem with his truck. It's packaged well, but some of the accessories that came with it were either substandard or utterly useless, and the upgrade instructions were wildly different from the actual steps required to upgrade (made worse by bad accessories). I'll start with smaller accessories. The included USB adapter in the second photo (quoted because it's unlikely) is a cheap piece of plastic that I haven't been able to work with multiple USB ports on different devices. I used my own adapter to read the included SD card on the computer. Also, the included USB cable was cumbersome to use and didn't work when connected to a computer either. Using additional accessories helped me overcome this hurdle. SD card note: I needed tweezers to remove the card from the device and the included "USB adapter" so be prepared. It could probably be done a little better. The screenshots in the guide on how to download the firmware update to the SD card do not match what you see on the real site at all, and where there is a resemblance, the guide is missing steps. With a little common sense and perseverance, I was able to apply the update to the device. Please note that updating via USB cable does not work when prompted by the device. I had to download the update to the card and then put the card back into the device to update. I'm not a mechanic, so I don't use a multi-thousand ODBII scanner. While this is confusing, I'm not scolding them for it as it's not my area of expertise. I was looking for code to google and figure out what's wrong. This was made after my brother and I played around a bit, so after all the hassle of updating it really gets the job done. Because of the bad instructions and the accessories, I only give it three stars.
