I got my first bottle and all I could get was air through the straw. I've tried moving it back and forth to see if it's lined up correctly, but nothing. I sent it back for a replacement. The second had the same problem but this time the mouthpiece fell off when I moved it. I've found that if you aim the straw at a certain angle and press down on the mouthpiece while using it, it works. I wish I could just get water and drink, but I can only breathe if I don't push down while drinking. This is very annoying.
