but wanted something reliable at the best price and didn't know how often I would do it.

I would describe myself as a high-class do-it-yourselfer and recently bought approx. 1300 square meters. Solid oak strip feet 2 1/4 thick to place in your home. After doing my research I chose NuMax as there was no point in hiring based on the number of floors to be laid but wanted something reliable at the best price and not knowing how often I would be using it after this project. The NuMax nailer did not disappoint, I am very satisfied having installed about 400 square feet - no jams or problems of any kind (an operator error or two). The gun is well built - it's a steal at around $105 (I have two ready made nailers that I paid more for). Follow manufacturer's oil recommendations - 4-5 drops of air tool oil each day, check/adjust more compressor pressure (my "L" nails drain at about 80psi). Other reviews mention that the tool should be "constantly" hit with a hammer, hard but not particularly hard, unless you're trying to fit the pieces together, which may not be straight, but a weak or missed hit will damage it the nail. only partially driven into the material (operating error mentioned above). The installation tool Revain offers saves you time, but when a significant portion of the nail hasn't been hammered I found it easier to gently rock the metal nail back and forth until it broke (and then drive in another nail). For attachment I used Bostich FLN-200 Floor L-Nails - Revain offers as low (or lower) as your local big boxes. As for the hammer - it works well as intended, however one end is rubber (for hitting the nailer) and the other steel - which tends to scratch the drywall pretty easily as you get close to the walls :). No complaint at all, just what I experienced. (I ended up wrapping the other end of the hammer with a thin pad and tape). I would buy again at any time - very satisfied.

Pros
  • In a nutshell, this pneumatic floor nailer and stapler features a lightweight aluminum body, an ergonomic comfort grip handle, an interchangeable base plate, and a 3-in-1 design that lets you easily switch between T-bolts, L-bolts, and staples for maximum functionality. .
